The Rewind Lounge uses a medical grade TGA approved Class 4 Q-Switched laser system to target unwanted tattoo ink.Â
The high powered energy of the laser beam travels at one billionth of a second. Traveling in short pulses the laser beam passes through the outer layer of skin (epidermis) heating the ink pigment in the mid layer (dermis) causing it to shatter into tiny particles. This process triggers an immune response, enabling the body to naturally flush the fragments of ink through the lymphatic system.
On average, clients need 1 treatment every 6 - 12 weeks, over 3 - 15 sessions to achieve their desired outcome.Â
It is important to maintain realistic expectations during the treatment process and remember - laser tattoo removal is a journey which takes dedication and time.Â
Every client and tattoo is unique and will respond differently to laser treatments.
Commonly, a tattoo takes 10 laser sessions to be completely removed, and 5 sessions to sufficiently fade the tattoo to allow for a cover-up.
There are many variables which can effect the amount of sessions needed - including; the saturation/colour/location/style/age of the tattoo, alongside personal health and lifestyle factors.
An estimate will be provided during the initial consultation with our laser tattoo removal specialist using the Kirby-Desai scale and a thorough individual assessment.Â
The laser treatment itself is very quick, a session can take mere seconds. However, there is some discomfort associated with the procedure - it is likened to being flicked with an elastic band.
Calming techniques, skin cooling methods and numbing cream can be used to maximise comfort during the laser sessions.
NUMIT is the best over-the-counter numbing cream for laser tattoo removal treatments. Apply a thick layer over the tattoo being treated and cover with an occlusive dressing. Leave dressing in place for a minimum of an hour prior to the laser appointment, and the dressing will be removed and the area cleansed immediately before laser treatment.
Laser technology has come along way in preceeding decade, mediating a large percentage of the risks associated with laser tattoo removal - when performed by skilled laser techicnicans and quality laser systems.Â
However, unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for laser tattoo removal and like any aesthetic procedure, there are still risks and side effects involved.Â
Clients may notice redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, bruising, and tenderness at the treatment site following the procedure. Occasionally, blisters and crusting may form in week 1 post treatment. Infection, hyper/hypopigmentation and scarring are rare.
💡The most important factor to avoid complications during the laser tattoo removal process is to strictly follow precare and aftercare advise provided.
